Comcast Starts Building High-Speed Internet for Medical Lake, WA

In partnership with the City of Medical Lake, Comcast will begin construction in the public rights of way to expand the availability of reliable, high-speed, symmetrical Internet in the City of Medical Lake, enhancing digital infrastructure, promoting economic growth, and positioning residents and local businesses for success in an increasingly digital world. Comcast will construct the infrastructure to connect 1,600 Medical Lake homes and businesses to this fiber network, which brings Internet, mobile, entertainment, and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business services to residents businesses for the first time.

High-speed Internet is not just a convenience; it’s a crucial tool for education, economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life in Medical Lake,” said Terri Cooper, Mayor of Medical Lake.

Residents can visit Xfinity.com/mytown and enter their addresses for additional details on construction timing and upcoming service availability. The project is expected to be completed in 2025. Comcast’s most recent expansion to Medical Lake is part of the company’s latest investment in Spokane County, which also includes expansions to Chattaroy and Four Lakes.

We are expanding our network over 25 miles to connect homes and businesses to reliable and fast broadband service,” said Roy Novosel, vice president of engineering, Comcast Pacific Northwest Region.

Residents can expect to see construction in Medical Lake going north to south between Beverly Avenue and Tule Pond and east to west from South Brayton Road to Medical Lake. Signs will be posted indicating work areas. Temporary road closures or detours may be required, and parking may be restricted in construction zones. Access to properties will be maintained as much as possible during construction. Residents will be notified by the construction contractor, MasTec, at least 10 days in advance of any temporary restrictions or road closures.
