The Seattle Seahawks and The New England Patriots are not the only teams preparing for Super Bowl Sunday. With 9 out of 10 Americans expected to tune into this year’s game, our technicians and network engineers have been working hard to make sure you don’t miss one second of the action.
We have spent all week shoring up our network and putting plans in place for Super Bowl Sunday. We are putting all hands on deck over the weekend to handle last-minute service requests, increasing the number of available technicians by 30 percent over a normal weekend.
And in the event there is an outage, we will do everything in our power to make repairs and get the game back on.
Then there is what we call our XOC—our local network operations center. Consider the XOC, Comcast’s own “Legion of Boom.” This is the nerve center of our fiber optic network, a place crammed with more flat-screen TVs, computers and communications equipment than your average electronics store. And like the “Legion of Boom,” it is Comcast’s best defense. Only instead of defending against opposing quarterbacks, the XOC’s team prepares for storms and protects against outages.
Our network operations center will be fully staffed during the game and in constant contact with other Comcast network operations centers across the country.
While you are watching the game, we will have more eyes than ever on our network to ensure nothing goes wrong. In fact, at our network operations center, we can detect and get help to correct a problem before our customers even notice
