Tis the Season of Giving! Comcast Employees Donate, Volunteer, and Come Together to Support Our Pacific Northwest Communities

The Pacific Northwest may be cold, but its people are not. Throughout November, nonprofits across Washington and Oregon saw Comcast volunteers prove how big their hearts are with over 50 different touch points. More than 500 volunteers and community members took pride in bridging critical gaps in social services and bring people together during the holiday season.

Comcast employees and their families are always excited to join their communities in to donate, volunteer, and come together in the spirit of giving. This season, Comcasters supported multiple causes, including, but not limited to:

  • Preparing and serving holiday meals for over 450 Boys & Girls Club kids and their families.
  • Making 250+ dog and cat toys for humane societies in Portland, OR and Bellingham, WA.
  • Sorting over 3,000 lbs. of food at Food Banks in Corvallis, Eugene, and Salem, OR as well as Spokane and Lakewood, WA.
  • Hosting item and diaper drives for homeless or low-income families across both states.
  • Sorting 500 lbs. of donations for homeless teens for Friends of Youth in Redmond, WA.
  • Supporting organizations that provide resources to 30,000+ local veterans in Thurston, Pierce, and King County, Washington with new technology and the training on how to use it.

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of our employees, residents, and businesses, we collected over 400 donations at Xfinity Stores. These included new clothing, shoes, and toys, which became special gifts for children at local Boys & Girls Clubs in the Pacific Northwest.

Comcast knows the value of volunteering is measured in more than dollars and hours. The spirit of volunteerism reflects the Pacific Northwest’s values of community involvement, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of our employees, customers, and all communities.
