Video: Comcast Employees Volunteer at Easterseals Camp Stand By Me in Key Peninsula

Comcast employees, families, and community members recently volunteered at EastersealsCamp Stand By Me in Vaughn. Volunteers helped prepare the camp for children and adults with disabilities for the 2025 summer season – cleaning, painting, repairing, organizing, pitching in any way that they could.
The volunteer effort continued to show Comcast’s commitment to the Key Peninsula area.
We recently completed construction of a fast and reliable fiber-rich broadband network in Key Peninsula ahead of schedule, in partnership with Pierce County, exceeding the forecast for connected homes and businesses. Originally expected to be completed in late spring, the project has expanded internet services to 600 North Key Peninsula homes and businesses — over 70 more than planned.
Pierce County is facilitating the expansion of broadband infrastructure to underserved areas of Pierce County. This program partners County funding with broadband service providers to build infrastructure for the benefit and quality of life of residents and to enhance economic opportunities for local businesses.
The approximately $5 million high-speed internet expansion project was funded as a public-private partnership between Comcast and Pierce County, with the County contributing $3.75 million of federal funding allocated through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA).
Comcast and Easterseals Partnership
The volunteer efforts continues a long-term partnership between Comcast and Easterseals Washington, which includes Comcast opening a Lift Zone Lab at Easterseals Gateway Adult Services in Bremerton. The event was part of celebrating Easterseals Washington President and CEO, Cathy Bisaillon’s, 30th anniversary of working for the organization. Cathy has served as the organization’s President and CEO since 2002 and has been well recognized for her dedication to helping people with disabilities and their families.
