Comcast employee volunteers, family members, and community members recently pitched in with Meals on Wheels for their Silver Café in Medical Lake, preparing food and serving meals to local seniors. The Silver Café, which is housed in St. Johns Lutheran Church near Hallett Street and Herb Street, was created by Meals on Wheels to provide seniors experiencing isolation a welcoming space to socialize and enjoy a warm meal with friends.

Joining Comcast volunteers were Medical Lake Mayor, Terri Cooper, and other local elected officials.

“Comcast coming in as a partner for the City of Medical Lake has been incredible. This is just the beginning of the kinds of things that can happen in Medical Lake because of our partnership with Comcast,” said Mayor Cooper.

Comcast also recently started to build a next-generation network to bring Xfinity services to 1,600 homes and businesses in Medical Lake. More than 200 passings are now active and construction will continue through 2025.

The day was part of Comcast’s Spring Into Service 2025 effort throughout the state, in which hundreds of Comcast employees, families, and community members volunteered thousands of hours with community organizations.
