Comcast employee volunteers recently pitched in this holiday season to make a meaningful impact in the lives of nearly 300 Boys & Girls Club kids and their families, putting together a magical Holiday Meal night at the Everett Snohomish Boys & Girls Club. Dozens of Comcast volunteers worked together to put together a special night with a holiday meal and exciting entertainment along with hundreds of take-home meals that were distributed the next day.
The event itself was nothing short of magical. Picture this: a minion roaming around, a bubble truck creating joy for the kids, an abundance of food that could feed an army, and of course, a dessert spread that went on and on. There were also countless community partners who stopped by to lend a hand, STEM activities to spark curiosity, and games that brought laughter and joy to everyone.
The event was just another part of a long, treasured partnership between Comcast and Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County. Earlier this fall we had the honor of partnering at the Snohomish Club for the grand opening of a new Lift Zone with a podcast studio and held an item drive at Xfinity stores throughout the month of November benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs across Snohomish County.
The event was part of Team UP, Comcast’s national employee volunteer program. Team UP is an always-on, 365-days-a-year effort that brings Comcast teams together and provides opportunities to get more involved in their local communities. Our reimagined approach to volunteerism allows for employees to serve their communities through traditional volunteering, give charitable donations to local non-profit organizations, and grow their leadership skills through our nonprofit board service trainings.
The name, Team UP, underscores that our work has the greatest reach when we join forces. It also aligns with Project UP, our initiative to build a future of unlimited possibilities.
