Meet Roy Novosel: Our New VP of Engineering

Roy Novosel new leader of engineering Washington state

We have appointed a VP of Engineering for Comcast and Xfinity in Washington state – Roy Novosel. Roy brings two decades of expertise to this new role, all with Comcast, making him an expert on our engineering, network and construction practices. He will manage the network, engineering and construction teams, and ensure the health and growth of one of the state’s largest converged, fiber-optic networks. Today, our network spans more than 33,000 miles across 200 communities in the state and serves upwards of 1.6 million residents and businesses.

Roy is a technical operations, construction and network engineering executive that joins the Comcast Washington Region after serving as Senior Director of Network Maintenance for Comcast Houston. In this role, he led a team of more than 250 people responsible for the health, performance, and growth of the region’s 28,000-mile fiber and coaxial cable network.

Roy also spent time as Senior Director of Construction for Comcast Houston where he oversaw all residential and commercial construction projects and builds. Prior to that, he was Director of Comcast Houston’s Excellence Operations Center (XOC) team, which monitors the health of the network, identifies vulnerabilities and helps remedy outages.

“I’m happy to be joining Comcast Washington’s leadership team and I look forward to setting the strategic direction of our engineering efforts across the state, so we can bring communities the best possible network and services,” said Novosel. “We are committed to offering residents and businesses the most reliable connectivity available.”

Novosel is a military veteran who served as a U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. and holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Phoenix. He is also an active member of The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, serving as the board president of the Sam Houston Chapter before relocating to Washington state.

“Roy is a fantastic leader who understands our business and how the engineering team can contribute to its success,” said Rodrigo Lopez, Regional Senior Vice President of Comcast Washington. “I look forward to working together to make sure communities across the state have access to our industry-leading network, services, and technology.”
