Comcast Now Washington State’s Largest Provider of Gigabit Internet

We are always looking for ways to offer you an unmatched Internet experience, and our Gigabit Internet Service has helped us revolutionize how we are able to do that.

You may remember we announced Gigabit Internet here in Washington state over the last year. If you aren’t familiar, Gigabit speeds — 1,000 megabits a second — are 10 times faster than the speeds Comcast traditionally offers of 100 megabits a second.

So, for those of you who are consumers with lots of connected devices, have smart homes full of Wi-Fi enabled technology or want the fastest possible download speeds to support gaming platforms, Comcast Gigabit Internet will be your best bet for getting the broadband you need.

Alternatively, if you are a business user, Gigabit Internet is also one of the best services for achieving the speed you need to run your organization with maximum efficiency. Whether you’re a small business with one or multiple locations, or work in a largescale complex industry like health care – gig speed can transform how you operate, allowing you to service customers quicker than ever before and drive rapid productivity.

This is why we are excited to announce this week that we have become the nation’s largest provider of gigabit broadband internet services.

Through ultra-fast Xfinity Gigabit Internet and Comcast Business Gigabit services, Comcast Gig internet is available to nearly 58 million homes and businesses across the country. This represents the fastest rollout of gigabit speeds by any provider nationwide.

In Washington state, nearly 1.89 million homes and businesses have the ability to access and utilize these lightning fast gigabit internet services.

Our residential Xfinity Gigabit Internet Service uses the existing network connections that are already in our customer’s homes, making installation easy. In many cases, we don’t even need to arrange a service visit, instead, our equipment comes with a simple self-installation kit delivered right to your front door.

Comcast’s residential broadband service is powered and controlled by Xfinity xFi, a digital dashboard that personalizes, monitors and manages WiFi connected devices in the home. In addition, Xfinity Gigabit Internet Service uses the existing network connections that are already in most customers’ homes. Installation is easy and requires no special construction or digging up lawns.

Outside the home, you also have access to more than 19 million Wi-Fi hotspots, to stay connected on the go at no additional cost.
