Comcast Business high-performance Ethernet network goes ‘all in’ at Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Airway Heights near Spokane

$200,000 investment brings high-capacity, scalable and reliable network services to the Northern Quest complex and surrounding area

Comcast Business today announced a nearly $200,000 fiber network expansion to Northern Quest Resort & Casino and the surrounding area in Airway Heights, Washington. Capable of delivering up to 10 Gigabits-per-second (Gbps) of network capacity, Comcast’s high-speed, scalable and reliable Ethernet services will initially serve the Northern Quest complex, with additional facilities being added to the network through 2019.

In addition to the hotel and casino, the Northern Quest development is comprised of 10 businesses offering visitors a variety of dining, nightlife, entertainment and meeting and event options. All of the organizations can now benefit from Comcast Business Ethernet, internet, video and voice services, which offer speed and reliability.

“The city of Airway Heights appreciates Comcast’s commitment to providing robust telecommunications products to our growing business community,” said Albert Tripp, city manager of Airway Heights. “The high-performance Ethernet network investment will strengthen opportunities for greater economic development and commerce in the area.”

Comcast Business is partnering with owners and developers to support additional new facilities, which will be built in the area over the next few years. Scheduled construction includes the addition of an RV resort, a movie and dinner theater, and a 216-unit, multi-family apartment complex, along with several other businesses yet to be announced.

“A major attraction for Spokane residents and visiting tourists, the Northern Quest Resort & Casino area will only continue to grow with the new developments planned over the next several years,” explained Matt Fassnacht, vice president of Comcast Business in Washington. “We’ve invested in building a strong infrastructure that will provide local businesses with the network performance, internet speeds and innovative technology services to help them deliver a superior customer experience and drive growth. Additionally, they have the ability to easily scale as bandwidth requirements change.”

This Ethernet expansion will provide businesses with access to a comprehensive portfolio of multi-Gigabit Ethernet options that will help meet the day-to-day demands of organizations requiring large amounts of bandwidth, looking to link multiple sites or branch locations, or planning to connect their offices to a third-party data center.

Services include:
⦁ Ethernet Private Line: Point-to-point connectivity between two customer sites for bandwidth-intensive applications.
⦁ Ethernet Virtual Private Line: Point-to-multipoint connection to enable customers to tailor bandwidth, performance characteristics and cost.
⦁ Ethernet Network Service: Multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity to connect organizations with high-bandwidth requirements and multiple locations across Comcast’s network.
⦁ Ethernet Dedicated Internet: Continuous, high-bandwidth connectivity between customers’ LANs and the public internet.
