ArtsFund is a remarkable organization dedicated to applying the resources of both companies and private citizens to support the arts in King and Pierce counties. When we’re in a hurry, we describe ArtsFund as a corporate council for the arts, but it’s supported by many individuals and families as well. The organization recently announced it was channeling more than $2.5 million in donations to arts groups this year. We’re very proud that Comcast’s specific donations are applied to groups that exemplify how the arts embrace diversity. Here are the recipients of Comcast’s donation: $15,000 to the Mary Helen Moore Diversity Fund:
- Broadway Center for the Performing Arts
- Earshot Jazz Society
- Spectrum Dance Theatre
- Velocity Dance Center
In Pierce County, we donated $7,500 total to the following recipients for embracing diversity here:
- Broadway Center for the Performing Arts
- Tacoma Art Museum
- Tacoma Musical Playhouse
- Museum of Glass
