Comcast is proud to be a sponsor of the the “Girls Without Limits!” (GWOL!) program at the YWCA of Olympia. The Girls Without Limits! Program offers 2-week sessions during summer for girls ages 10 to 14.
GWOL! focuses on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), as well as leadership, self-esteem, career awareness and art. Participants are given the opportunity to meet professional women, go on educational field-trips and work on group projects.
Girls are encouraged to empower themselves and each other by increasing self-confidence, knowledge and skills in the STEM area. Comcast has been able to provide the YWCA of Olympia’s Girls Without Limits! program with several full and partial scholarships in order to ensure that as many girls as possible are able to participate in the program.
In August, Comcast visited the YWCA of Olympia to see what these talented young women and their mentors had to say about the program.
