Comcast has been able to provide the YWCA of Olympia’s Girls Without Limits! program with several full and partial scholarships in order to ensure that as many girls as possible are able to participate. GWOL! focuses on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) career opportunities, as well as leadership, self-esteem, career awareness, and art. Participants are given the opportunity to meet professional women, go on educational field-trips, and work on group projects. Girls are encouraged to empower themselves and each other by increasing self-confidence, knowledge, and skills in the STEM area. GWOL! sessions are offered during spring and summer breaks and occasional weekends for girls ages 10 to 14.
