The Comcast Foundation’s $25,000 grant to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County is the subject of a front page story in the Tacoma-based Business Examiner of Thurston and Pierce counties. The story focuses on how young people need access to technology and an understanding of technology to be eligible for many jobs of the present and future.

We really appreciate the commitment of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County to digital literacy.  As Joseph Ingoglia, club CEO says in the story, “Kids need to learn and conquer technology. It’s used everywhere…You hear talk of bridging the digital divide. We are trying to bridge that gap for kids. We want to provide those kids with opportunities they might not otherwise have.”

Comcast has supported the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County for many years; you can read here about a PSA we recently filmed for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County.
