I’m not a big golf fan, but I love golf in 3D. That’s why I’m excited Comcast will show select portions of the PGA Championships this week in 3D.
With 3D, you can actually see how the greens break. You can see how narrow the fairways are. Heck, the picture is so stunning you can recognize your friends in the gallery.
Coverage will air on Comcast’s 3D Events channel 897 on Thursday, August 12th and Friday, August 13th. The 3D broadcast is only a sampling of the tournament, with broadcasts from 12 noon to 3 p.m. each day. It will include coverage of only the 12th and 17th holes.
Still, it’s enough to give you a glimpse into the future of sports television.
