March Madness… The Big Dance 2019… whatever you call it – the NCAA Basketball Tournament kicks off this week and as a result, there are weeks of basketball entertainment ahead.  And while many folks will be sitting at home to watch these games on their Xfinity X1 platform, there are thousands of bars and restaurants in our region who are hosting college basketball fans to watch the excitement, as well.

To give our Comcast Business partners and their customers the best video experience for watching the drama unfold during March Madness 2019, we are excited to announce our award-winning X1 platform is now available to businesses nationwide.

Comcast’s award-winning X1 video platform now gives bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms and other local business organizations the ability to give customers the best experience for watching the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament.

X1 for Business includes easier search and navigation, voice control and a picture-in-picture, as well as a sports content companion called the X1 Sports App. The app features team and player profiles, statistics and real-time, game-specific data – keeping your customers up-to-date with the latest tournament rankings and news.

We know it’s one of the most profitable times of the year for restaurants and sports bars, as the college basketball tournament offers more than 60 games and had first-round coverage averaging 8.6 million television viewers in 2018, up from 8.2 million in 2017.

Nearly 70 million consumers filled out 2018 tournament brackets, according to the American Gaming Association. So, as fans gear up to watch this year’s tournament, Comcast’s X1 for Business helps bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms entertain hoops fans no matter where they are watching the tournament.
