Crosscut and KCTS post and video show how new technology is making entertainment accessible to all

Accessible technology

We recently cooperated with Crosscut and KCTS to sponsor a report about how the X1 voice remote helps people with sight impairments. We hope you enjoy the report and video: to see it, click here.

If the stars of this show, Gary and Marlaina look familiar, it’s because they began the year with a segment on another local TV sta tion, KING 5. They were featured in a report about the importance not only of the voice remote, but also video description of programs: click here to see the KING 5 report the night that “Hairspray” aired live.

The Crosscut report features Tom Wlodkowski, Comcast’s vice president of accessibility, who has been blind since birth. As the report says, he wants “accessibility to not even be viewed as ‘accessibility.’”

We’re happy to share these examples of how technology can empower people.
