Access to the internet, technology and computer training is critical to a successful transition to housing and employment for women and families experiencing homelessness. Additionally, winter can be among the toughest seasons for these families – the weather is cold and wet, and they have limited ability to buy coats and other cold weather clothing.
To help provide relief, we created a 2018 Neighborhood Season of Giving campaign to support Mary’s Place with a $250,000 grant for technology resources, job readiness and digital skills training for women and families at Mary’s Place emergency family shelters.
It has been said that access to the internet in today’s world is nearly as important as running water, and for the families impacted by homelessness in Seattle it can be a lifeline for finding housing and full-time work. And, we are happy to also provide Mary’s Place with internet connectivity and technology to equip shelters with needed resources to help residents move into stable housing.
Representatives from Mary’s Place, Washington state Senator David Frockt, Deputy Mayor of Seattle David Moseley and other from across the community helped to build this initiative. This all-hands-on-deck approach shows what can happen when community members come together for the greater good.

Join in on the Support this Holiday Season
In addition to monetary and technology donations, we are also pleased to share a winter clothing donation and public drive, organized by our company’s Women’s Network and Young Professional employee resource groups. We’re so proud of the two employee groups that have already collected and donated more than 50 bags of clothes for Mary’s Place.
Now through January 6, 2019, we are accepting donations at our Northgate Xfinity Retail Store. We will deliver additional donations from the Xfinity store directly to Mary’s Place.
