Comcast and Tabor 100 Empower Small Business Owners Through Digital Opportunities

In a powerful step toward bridging the digital divide and uplifting small business communities, Comcast has partnered with Tabor 100 to promote digital opportunities for entrepreneurs and small business owners. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to economic empowerment, education, and access to technology—especially within underserved communities.

With more than $70,000 in cash and in-kind services from Comcast over the past two years, Tabor 100 is expanding access to critical digital tools and resources. The organization is implementing a hybrid learning model through its Business Development Center in Tukwila and virtual platforms statewide that include:

• Workshops and Training: Covering accounting, certified payroll, proposal writing, digital marketing, and procurement readiness.
• One-on-One Assistance: Matching entrepreneurs with experts for tailored guidance on business planning, estimating, contracts, and IT support.
• Capital Access Guidance: Advising firms on financing options, leveraging Tabor 100’s character lending program and partnerships with local lenders.
• Technology Access: Providing free tools such as QuickBooks, Microsoft 365, and DocuSign, alongside shared workspace and equipment.

Among the in-kind contributions, Comcast provided 20 laptops for Tabor 100 members, available through the organization’s Technology Assistance Fund. These devices are essential tools for entrepreneurs looking to grow their businesses, manage operations, and stay connected in an increasingly digital world. Additionally, Comcast sponsored 20 annual memberships to Tabor 100, giving recipients access to vital resources such as training, technology assistance, and networking opportunities. These memberships are designed to help small business owners build capacity and thrive in competitive markets.

A significant portion of the cash donation was directed toward sponsorships for Tabor 100’s annual Gala. Proceeds from the Gala support both the Technology Assistance Fund and Scholarship Fund, which provide education, economic development, and training opportunities for African Americans and the broader community.
