Before things got a little crazy this January, the Seattle Seahawks paid a visit to their fans last month at Black Diamond Elementary School near Enumclaw. Black Diamond Elementary as participating in the NFL PLAY 60 Super School Program which encourages students to be active for 60 minutes a day. Comcast was pleased to air a PSA about the campaign, above. Black Diamond was one of the entrants. And then it became one of 34 schools around the country that were honored in a very special way.

The NFL, Seattle Seahawks and Comcast presented Black Diamond Elementary $10,000 for excellence in encouraging youths to be fit.

The NFL Network, The Seahawks, and Comcast presented this Enumclaw School District school with a $10,000 NFL PLAY 60 grant for health and wellness programming or equipment. They also hosted a special assembly where players, Sea Gals and Blitz led activities and focused on the importance of being active and healthy.

“The energy level in the gym from the kids was electrifying!,” said Terry Davis, Comcast director of franchise and government affairs, the man with his hand over the check, above. “The funds provided by this program will go a long way in helping Black Diamond Elementary maintain their playgrounds for their students.  I was so proud to represent Comcast and be part of an amazing event that the students will remember forever.”
Our big thanks to everyone there who got the kids excited, and particularly these Seahawks: Brian Walters, Phil Bates, Chandler Feneer, and DeShawn Shead. The kids were thrilled to meet them, as you can see from the video link below.
